On Thursday 22nd February Lt Col Cathal Keohane, Officer Commanding 122nd Infantry Battalion presented two cheques in Sarsfield Barracks. This was on behalf of the men and women of 122 Inf Bn, and from their combined fundraising activities while serving in South Lebanon.

A large donation of over €4,000 was accepted by ONE Board Director Gerry Doherty and ONE’s Sarsfield Branch Chairperson Gerard Enright. Thank you to all who supported this amazing fundraising initiative. Another donation of €4,000 was presented to the management of the Milford Care Centre, which is based in Limerick.

The 122nd Infantry Battalion deployed in May 2023 to South Lebanon as part of UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) and returned in November 2023. The main body of the Unit was formed from the 12 Infantry Battalion in Sarsfield Bks, Limerick.

The Milford Care Centre is a voluntary, not-for-profit organisation and registered charity. It was first established by the Little Company of Mary Sisters in 1928 and now provides Specialist Palliative Care and Older Persons Services in the Mid West.
