HOMES FOR HOMELESS VETERANS: 4 OPERATING (51 BEDROOMS)
Our residents contribute on a means basis towards their accommodation and sustenance:
- Athlone Brú Chostúim – 5 Bedrooms.
- Cobh Brú na Farraige (Opened October 2021) – 5 Bedrooms.
- Dublin Brú na bhFiann – 35 Bedrooms.
- Letterkenny Brú Doire Feá – 6 Bedrooms.
5 UNDER DEVELOPMENT (29 BEDROOMS – TOTAL OF 80 BEDROOMS BY 2026)
- Cork City Brú Uí Choileáin – Partnership with Cork County Council – 6 Bedrooms Open Q1 2024.
- Limerick Brú an tSairséalaigh – Partnership with Dept. Of Defence, Limerick City & County Council, and the Housing Agency – Open 2024.
- Kildare – Partnership with Kildare County Council – Open 2024.
- Galway and Louth – are being planned for 2025 and 2026 respectively.
VETERAN SUPPORT CENTRES
ONE has developed a nationwide network of Veteran’s Support Centres to provide veterans with information, advice, to listen and somewhere to meet with former comrades. We hope by providing early intervention, we can alleviate social stresses and significantly reduce homelessness among veterans. Veteran Support Centres staffed by volunteer members are now located in: Athlone; Athy; Casement Aerodrome; Cavan; Cathal Brugha Bks (Dublin); Collins Bks and Cobh (Cork); Curragh Camp; Dundalk; Finner Camp; Galway; Kilkenny; Limerick; McKee Bks (Dublin); and Wexford.
VETERAN SUPPORT OFFICERS & COUNSELLING SERVICE
ONE offers a counselling service and is there to listen and to provide veterans with direct access to a designated Veteran Support Team and ONE’s Confidential Counselling Service. ONE has male and female counsellors on our team who are available to meet over the phone or in person.
Veteran Support Officers (Counsellors) are located in:
- Head Office in partnership with the Leopardstown Park Hospital Trust (2021)
- Brú na bhFiann in partnership with HSE Dublin North (CHO 9) (2020).
- Cork / Kerry (CHO 4) in partnership with the Tomar Trust & RACO (2023)
- Dublin South / Kildare / West Wicklow (CHO 7) Recently Advertised and starting 1 Oct 2023.
