One of the main objects of ONE is Comradeship and this is expressed in our Strategic Plan as part of our Mission, where we use the acronym SCAR Support Comradeship Advocacy Remembrance.

Comradeship is further explained:
a. To develop a spirit of comradeship among veterans, and between
veterans and serving members of Óglaigh Na hÉireann/Defence Forces.
b. To foster public interest in Óglaigh Na hÉireann/Defence Forces.
c. To promote social and cultural activities.

Under this objective ONE is sponsoring a Camaraderie Award to a recruit/private in a Defence Forces Recruit Platoon or 3 Star Training Platoon who showed the core values that ONE hold dear similar to the Defence Forces Values include Commitment, Compassion, Comradeship, Honesty, Respect and Service to Others.
