At midday on Saturday 17th June 2023 at DKIT, Dundalk, over 50 people joined together to do the ONE Challenge 2023 5Km walk in honour of Private Seán Rooney and in aid of Óglaigh Náisiúnta na hÉireann (ONE). Photos by Eamon ‘Doc’ Doherty, ONE’s Micheal McNeela Branch.

Pte Seán Rooney was killed while on overseas service with the 121st Inf Bn, UNIFIL, on the 14th of December 2022, when he sadly lost his life in the service of peace. Cuimhnímis – Remember Those Who Served.

Many of Seán’s family and friends took part in the 5km walk, which was the conclusion of the ONE Challenge 2023 which was organised by members of ONE’s Michael McNeel Branch, based out of the same barracks as Seán – Aiken Barracks Dundalk.

The event ran from the 12th to the 17th of June 2023, with registration at €25 resulting in nearly 200 unique ONE Challenge Medals being sent out recently. There is still an opportunity to donate to help with this event: www.onechallenge.eu
