Over the weekend ONE held a Welfare Officers Course for Veterans who will volunteer in the ONE’s Veteran Support Centres (VSC) around the country.
The purpose of the 2-day training programme was to provide the veterans who volunteer in the Veteran Support Centres with the necessary information and skills that will enable them to provide support to other veterans.
This course is not designed to qualify volunteers in any professional capacity as either a counsellor or subject matter experts. Instead, the training is designed to enable volunteers to identify an issue, provide information, offer empathic support and encourage service users to obtain the appropriate professional help.
ONE provides veterans with direct access to a designated Veteran Support Team & our male/female Confidential Counselling Service. If any veteran would like to avail of our private & confidential service, please call 086-138-0825 or visit here for all our services.
