28 Infantry Battalion raise over €7k for charities

On the 5th of July, members of the 28 Inf Bn Cycled from Finner Camp to Letterkenny in aid of three charities: the Alzheimer Society of Ireland, ONE Veterans Charity and the Defence Forces Benevolent Fund.

Over €7,500 was raised for these worthy causes, so a big thank you to all those who took part, and supported the event. On the 22nd of July, Comdt Shannon 28 Inf Bn presented cheques to the three charities in Finner Camp.

Aiden Retigan, House Manager of Brú Doire Feá (Beechwood House) in Letterkenny, and Daniel Toland, Secretary, St Eunans Branch of ONE are both pictured accepting the donation of €2436.35 on behalf of ONE Veterans Charity from Comdt Shannon, 28 Inf Bn. We would like to thank the organisers, all those who took part, and those who donated to this fundraiser. The funds will be used on ONE services for Veterans in the Donegal area.

ONE’s primary objective is to support the needs of Irish veterans by the provision of accommodation to homeless and other veterans in need of such domestic accommodation in its Veterans’ Homes and the provision of other advice and support to veterans, in particular Mental Health advice, through its nationwide network of Branches and Veterans’ Support Centres.
