They will climb to the top of famous mountain in Tipperary to support army veterans
Trek up Slievenamon takes place on Sunday
Stephen Hogan from Willow Close, Clonmel has organised a hill walk up Slievenamon on this Sunday, July 28 as part of a fundraising drive in aid of the Irish Defence Forces’ homeless veterans and to support the professional service provided to veterans by the ONE, the Organisation of Ex-Service Personnel.
As part of his fundraising efforts for the organisation, which he says is a great organisation but very underfunded, Stephen is also undertaking the massive challenge of climbing to Mount Everest base camp from April 12-29 next year.
The married father of three, who served a total of 15 years in the Defence Forces, says he is trying to raise as much money as possible for the ONE before his trip to Nepal next April.
The meeting point for Sunday’s climb is the Slievenamon car park at the top of Kilcash village at 9am.
Medals will be presented to all participants and refreshments will be provided. Those taking part are requested to bring a packed lunch, a warm fleece, wet gear, suitable footwear, water, sunscreen and a fully charged mobile phone.
Anyone who wishes to donate may do so by contacting 085-2042000, through sponsorship cards or via Stephen Hogan’s Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/stephen.hogan.501

Your support for this worthy cause would be greatly appreciated.
