The charity cycle will begin in Finner Camp, Co. Donegal and finish in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal, a distance of approximately 78km. The event will aim to enhance the 28th Infantry Battalion’s relations with the local community while raising much-needed funds for the above-mentioned charities.

To achieve this, a number of stops will be incorporated into the route taking in some of the prominent sporting, educational and historical landmarks throughout the county including Donegal Castle, Biddy O’Barnes, Finn Park, McCumhail Park and ATU Campus Letterkenny.

Donations and contributions made towards this event will be used by the above charities to continue to provide vital functions and services in the local community. In particular, the Defence Forces Benevolent Fund and ONE Veterans Charity will continue to strive to provide services and support to veterans who require their assistance.

ONE’s primary objective is to support the needs of Irish veterans by the provision of accommodation to homeless and other veterans in need of such domestic accommodation in its Veterans Homes and the provision of other advice and support to veterans, in particular Mental Health advice, through its nationwide network of Branches and Veterans Support Centres.
