ANZAC Day 25th April 2024

The Organisation of National Ex-Service Personnel (ONE) observes ANZAC Day. It offers its best regards to its fellow veterans of Australia and New Zealand and all those who remember those who served.

‘Lest We Forget’

ANZAC Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand that broadly commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders “who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations” and “the contribution and suffering of all those who have served”.

Observed on 25th April each year, ANZAC Day was originally devised to honour the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps members who served in the Gallipoli Campaign, their first engagement in the First World War.

On the 25th of April 1915, Australian and New Zealand soldiers formed part of the Allied expedition that set out to capture the Gallipoli peninsula. The 25th of April was officially named ANZAC Day in 1916.
