Nearly €20,000 donated by Swan Batt’s Military Veterans Gala Ball

For the last seven years, the Military Veterans Gala Ball has been organised and run by the Defence Forces Veteran’s Group Swan Batt. Swan Batt’ Military Veterans Gala Ball organising committee is made up of Benny Hill, Tommy Conlon, Vinny Kearns and Paul Clarke as a fundraising initiative to support ONE’s 35-bed home for homeless veterans in Smithfield Dublin called Brú na bhFiann (Home of the Brave).

The 2023 Military Veterans Gala Ball was held in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Blanchardstown, Dublin, on Saturday 4th November, where over 350 members from the Military Community including guests attended, and raised €19,626 for a very worthy cause.

Swan Batt’s team deserve great gratitude and plaudits for this extraordinary fundraising initiative. In January of 2023, the four guys: Benny, Tommy, Vinny and Paul were awarded Honorary Life Membership of ONE, for their outstanding fundraising over the previous years to help struggling veterans. This year they have done it again and broke previous fundraising levels for this event.

ONE’s CEO Cormac Kirwan said, “This is an outstanding achievement from the guys, we are extremely grateful for these funds and again, thank you so much for going above and beyond for your fellow veterans.”

ONE supports the needs of Irish veterans by the provision of accommodation to homeless veterans and the provision of other advice and support through its nationwide network of Branches and Veteran Support Centres.
