On Tuesday 27th November 2023, he visited Brú na Bhfiann (Home of the Brave), ONE’s flagship home with 35 bedrooms with en-suite facilities, a large dining room, a day room and a roof garden, situated at the top of Smithfield Market in Dublin’s inner city. 

Since 2019 Fintan has sponsored Brú na Bhfiann’s day room in memory of his brother Colm Swanton a former Defence Forces soldier, who sadly passed away in 2000. Since then the day room has been called the “Colm Swanton Room”. Those who visit see the brass plate and ask who is Colm Swanton, keeping his name and memory alive.

Sinead Black, the Deputy House Manager in Brú na Bhfiann said, “It was lovely to finally meet Fintan and have a chat.  We would sincerely like to thank him for all his help over the past number of years.”

Sinead continued, “Some years ago Fintan had read about ONE and its charitable work for struggling veterans, and undertook the request of sponsoring a room in Brú na Bhfiann.”
